Convergence Strategy Group worked with Spectrum Gaming Group to serve the needs of Resorts World New York City throughout the competitive bid process and eventual win of a casino license in New York City.  In December 2025, the New York Gaming Facility Location Board selected Resorts World to apply for a commercial casino license, bringing to a close the process that began long before the initial Request for Applications was issued in January 2023, and included multiple rounds of questions and answers, Application Submittals, Community Advisory Committee hearings, volumes of public comment and feedback, Supplemental Submissions, and Applicant Selection by the 5-member Gaming Facility Location Board.  The superior project proposed and tireless work of the RWNYC team in demonstrating the true benefits of the casino to the community were integral in their successful application.  

Honored to be a part of the effort, Convergence Strategy Group’s principals were responsible for determining:

• Gaming market potential for up to 3 new casino resorts in the greater NYC market, as well as a new slot facility in Orange County, NY
• Source of gaming patronage and revenues, including repatriated spending, tourist spending, spending from out-of-state residents, spending diverted from existing NY gaming facilities and new spending by New Yorkers
• Change in revenues for existing NY gaming facilities under each development scenario
• Impact on NY gaming facilities if a large-scale casino  opens at the Meadowlands in New Jersey
• Net gaming tax implications of new casino development in the NYC market
