For Peninsula Pacific Entertainment, Convergence Strategy Group provided a series of analyses and support, including feasibility studies, competitive market assessments, and sizing recommendations for a new casino in the state of Iowa.  CSG’s integration of the latest in mobile phone tracking data to our models allowed for unprecedented accuracy, particularly with regard to the potential impacts of this proposed new casino on existing casinos in the larger region.  The client had twice applied for licensure (2014 and 2017), but was denied the license due to concerns about potential market cannibalization.  In October 2024, CSG presented to the Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission our analyses of each existing casino’s market draw, projections of the new facility’s visitation and revenue potential, as well as its expected impact on competitors.  In January 2025, our client was ultimately awarded the first casino license in Iowa in more than a decade.  A groundbreaking was held the following day, and the project is expected to be open to the public by December 31, 2026.
